HerbalScienceResearch.com (HSR) is a personal project of Shayne Foley, an Australian Herb Geek living in the US.
Right now, the site serves as the public collation point for hand-selected clinically-relevant herbal research. It’s very much a work in progress. However, as we import articles of interest, we are adding meta-data to the studies, in effect building a dynamic taxonomy of terms for the future cataloguing of clinically-focused botanical knowledge, based on what is actually being published.
How does this improve on the MeSH Taxonomy managed by the National Library of Medicine? Well, it’s our belief that if we are to effectively access stored herbal information and research, we need a taxonomy that carries with it expert knowledge of the herbal research field and its nuances, including traditional frameworks of reference.
Over the next few months, we’ll open the site to allow comments on research posts. So, make sure you check back with us.
